’The Guards’ is a new TV3 drama in Ireland
following the trials and tribulations of three young police officers as
they deal with problems at home and on the job. Filmed on location in
the old Finglas Garda station and in locations around Dublin, the show
was filmed as a pilot for an ongoing drama series.
The show stars Emmett Scanlan (The Phone, The Clinic), Chris Patrick
Simpson (The Magdalene Sisters, Fifty Dead Men Walking), Aisling
McLaughlin (The Clinic, Fair City), Amy Joyce Hastings (The Tudors,
Fools of Fortune), Rachel Rath (Savage, Anton) and Gordon Mahon (The
Clinic).
The production was announced at the launch of TV3's autumn schedule in
August 2009. The show is due to air in late 2010.
