Filmed
as a pilot for a proposed TV series, 'The Coalboat Kids and the
Pickaroonie' is a tale taken from the pages of the collection of short
stories by Pat Larkin.
This is the tale of a group of
kids who lived in the time of the black and white television and in the
place where all of Dublin dumped its rubbish, sewage, and anything else
it didn't want. We follow our hero Gitcha and his three pals, Lick the
Walls, Mickey Looker and Two Slices, as they head off on their many
adventures in Ringsend in the nineteen sixties.
